MTP MPO Fiber Patch Cable(One of the MT series connectors)
MPO fiber patch cords use the MPO (Multi-fiber Push-On) connector, which belongs to the MT series of connectors. The MT ferrules feature two precise guide holes with a 0.7mm diameter on each side of the ferrule’s end face, aligned by corresponding guide pins (also called PINs) for accurate mating. When MPO connectors are terminated with fiber optic cables, they can form a variety of MPO patch cord types. These patch cords typically range from 2 to 12 fibers, with a maximum capacity of 24 fibers, though 12-fiber MPO connectors are the most commonly used. Due to the compact form factor of MPO connectors, these patch cords can accommodate high fiber counts while maintaining a small footprint. MPO patch cords are widely used in environments that require dense optical fiber integration during cabling, as well as in FTTX systems and in connections involving 40/100G SFP, SFP+, and other transceiver modules or internal/external device links.

MPO fiber optic patch cords are divided into transfer type and non-transfer type. There are many types of transfer MPO patch cords, including ribbon MPO patch cords, bundled MPO patch cords, and PO patch cords fanned out through splitters (round or square). Generally, 2~24 core 0.9 or 2.0 optical cable branches can be transferred. The connector type is specified by the customer, and FC, LC, SC, ST and other types are available. The total length or branch length of the MPO patch cord and other requirements are up to the customer to choose. All kinds of MPO fiber patch cords, MPO adapter patch cords, MTP types, MTP 10G patch cords, multimode 10G patch cords, MPO patch cords with splitters and other forms of MPO patch cord products all comply with Telcordia-GR-326, IEC standards and Rohs requirements.
MPO fiber patch cords are commonly implemented in structured cabling across various enterprise buildings, enabling optical interconnection in active optical devices. They are also applied in wiring within communication base stations and inside distribution enclosures. These patch cords provide reliable optical signal transmission in environments such as residential communities, industrial park data centers, and commercial building server rooms. Suitable for dense optical cabling setups, MPO cables are essential in modern optical transmission systems, cable television infrastructures, and telecommunication networks. They are widely utilized in LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), and FTTx (Fiber to the x) deployment scenarios.
